Bubblz Maths Announces July 1st Fundraising Show
15th June 2012
Bubblz Maths returns to South Africa and will take a break from the AIMSSEC teacher training course to give a fundraising show for her favourite cause.
1st July 2012, Muizenberg Civic Centre 10.30 – 12.00
International, award winner, Caroline Ainslie performs her mathematical edutainment with clowning, giant soap bubbles and enormous balloons.
Here is what some teachers have said about the show on previous visits:
“The way that Bubblz showed us to make measuring instruments and all the games she demonstrated left our learners with a lasting good and practical impression about Mathematics – and the facts will stick. The very interesting way that she presented her show can be used in our Maths and Science classes in future.”
Letter from the Principal of Paarlzicht Primary School.
” I must admit I’ve always avoided teaching this aspect of Maths, but the ideas you’ve shared really
inspired me. Can’t wait for the new term to try it with my learners.
Mimosa Primary School
Caroline (50) has been coming to South Africa since 2009 to help AIMSSEC in her own unique way. Although she was born in England, her South African father instilled a lifelong love of the nation in her from the time she was born. Trained as an electronic engineer, Caroline discovered her clown at the age of 42, figured out that it would be a great way to make maths fun, converted to mathematical clowning and has never looked back.
AIMSSEC is a schools mathematics enrichment programme based in Muizenburg offering free resources and courses to South African teachers and Caroline was anxious to support a cause so close to her heart from the moment she heard about it.
